My motivation is not external.
My motivation is not based off of who is around me. Whether that be a large body builder or a beginning weight lifter, it doesn't matter. I don't care if you're next to me lifting heavier weights, more reps or anything like that. My motivation does not come from others telling me how well I'm doing, as wonderful as it is, its not what gets me through the grind. So what does that really mean to me though? To be proficient at something, you are repeatedly completing and practicing specific tasks that follow the pathway of achieving a mastery or higher level experience in a subject like your individual health, a sport, an instrument and so on.
Fear is a protection mechanism produced by your body when it believes an external force is a threat or could cause harm to itself.
Fear is also a point or line that notifies you before extreme happiness,excitement and joy. Sometimes the initial attempt of something terrifies us because we are unsure of what may happen, may that be injury or just utter failure.
I was always terrified of heights. Terrified of being anywhere above my own physical height was unsettling.
I could not let the fear rule me. I chose to beat it....
We all have them. Something that we reach for, something that we are willing to do anything to achieve.
